ARVAL ACTIVE LINK

The protection of your personal data is important to the BNP Paribas Group, which includes the Arval companies. The BNP Paribas Group has adopted strong principles in that respect.

This specific information notice (the "Notice") provides you with detailed information relating to the protection of your personal data by Arval Oy, Karhumäentie 3, 01530 Vantaa (Y-tunnus: 2460633-0), with regards to the Active Arval Link telematics tool.

If you would like further information on how Arval Oy protects your personal data in general, please consult the Arval Data Protection Notice at www.arval.fi/en/privacy.

ARVAL ACTIVE LINK
New technologies are developing rapidly, giving rise to a range of new fleet management opportunities. Arval aims to become the world leader in the innovation and application of these technologies. This is why Arval and Artel – an Arval subsidiary – have developed Arval Active Link, an in-house telematics solution.

1. Data collection
Arval Active Link collects vehicle use data. Data is collected via remote data transmission from the telematics equipment installed in the vehicle (the "Device"). The Device contains GPS-technology that records the location of the vehicle and a certain number of sensors which collect data on the vehicle's performance and ability. However, GPS locations are only part of the Device’s firmware and cannot be accessed by Arval, except in the event of theft or accident and only with the driver's prior confirmation.

Transmission can be either instantaneous, delayed or on request.

2. Data, Purpose and Retention
The device makes it possible for Arval to receive certain personal data that will only be used for limited purposes and in Arval's legitimate interests. We only use your personal data to implement and expand our products and services, manage our contractual relationship with customers, improve our risk management and defend or exercise our legal rights.

The data, purposes and retention period are given below:

Purpose

Personal Data

Retention Period

Vehicle maintenance and proactive contract modifications

- Total number of kilometers with timestamping data every time the vehicle stops;
- Potential deviations between the distance travelled by in-vehicle equipment and the actual reading of the odometer;
- Vehicle self-generated technical alerts, if capable of being collected (for instance, number of kilometers until next vehicle servicing, error codes, etc.).

2 years.

Accident detection and management

- Accident alerts including, vehicle geo-tracking data (GPS position, timestamping data and accident severity);
- vehicle kinematic (movement data & vehicle speed average) shortly before and after the accident;

Until closure of the file relating to the accident for which a claim was submitted

Combating vehicle theft

 - GPS localization only after explicit confirmation of the Driver.

GPS data will be collected until closure of the alert whereupon the data will be simply erased.

Vehicle knowledge (per model and brands)

- Timestamping of vehicle starts and stops (e.g., data which may be correlated with refueling data) and traveled number of kilometers split by type of environment (e.g., urban, outdoor, motorway);
- Fuel level in the fuel tank as the vehicle starts and stops (if possible);
- Driving style rated by scores (in terms of safety and environmental efficiency) together with aggregated indicators characterizing speed management during the journey (maximum level, steadiness, responsiveness to environment);
- Time and traveled kilometers allocation (e.g., urban, outdoor, motorway but also daylight, twilight and night).

2 years;  such data will thereafter be aggregated so as to generate operating statistics on an anonymous basis

Risk management

3. Data sharing
